Norse Mythology Book Tag!

norse mythology book tag, norse gods, book blog banner, book tag

Hey hey!! Another book tag!! I hope y’all haven’t gotten tired of them!😁

I’m so happy I got tagged in this because I’m a big mythology fan. I love Rick Riordan’s books and I’m always glad for an opportunity to show my love for all kinds of things mythology. I was tagged by the funny, amazing  Rendz from Reading with Rendz and if you don’t know her, you need to! Start by checking out her blog and saying hi. Thank you Rendz!

This tag was created by Kyera at Kyera’s library and those I tagged below plus anyone else should please not forget to mention her in their posts.

The Rules

  • Link back to my original post and to Kyera’s post
  • Thank the person(s) who tagged you…show the community some love!
  • Obviously, come up with your wondeful answers!
  • Don’t forget to tag others to keep the tag going.

Odin is the All-Father, the leader of the Norse gods. He is the god of wisdom, poetry, battle, death, wine and war among other things.

I love Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. I’m sure some of you are already tired of me gushing about it😂😂😂 I read it in my mum’s car while she was driving and I was suffering from a slight car sickness. That’s how much I really like it. It’s so amazing and cute!

The Universe Versus Alex Woods by Gavin Extence is a novel I don’t talk about enough. It’s powerful, funny and beautiful and the main character is an absolute darling. It’s the kind of novel that people should be raving about.

Thor is the god of thunder, weather, warriors, strength, and storms so his might packs a punch. He is married to the beautiful lady Sif.

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. This book made me feel. It’s hard to explain but this book made me feel so much. It was hard to really gush about it in my review (link) but I don’t think any book has affected me as much as this one.

Another is The Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed. In December, Riveted Lit was doing this thing where they put ebooks on their site for readers to read in 24 hours. This book was one of those I read. I haven’t been able to write a review yet but I can tell you that it evoked every single emotion I feel about feminism and rape culture. It made me angry, sad, furious, pitying and at the end I felt so triumphant and happy like I was living in the story.

P.S. I think I’m going to include this quote in my review. Not bad 🤔😄

Loki is the god of mischief, thieves and thrives on chaos.

The character betrayal in Nevernight by Jay Kristoff stunned and infuriated me. I didn’t expect it at all!! Those of you who have read it will know what I’m talking about.

Don’t worry. I won’t spoil it😉😏

Frigg is Odin’s wife, the goddess of love, marriage, fertility and fate

I’ve got a few…Bear with me😊

  • Ron and Hermione in Harry Potter
  • Simon and Baz in Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
  • Monty and Percy in The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzie Lee

Heimdall is the god of loyalty, faithfulness and it is he who protects the bi-frost, the bridge that connects all nine worlds.

Okay. This is oddly specific and nearly impossible to answer. After thinking really hard, I finally found two!! I honestly didn’t want to leave this unanswered.

Anyway, Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor is much better than its predecessor, Daughter of Smoke and Bone.

Also, I don’t have a lot of love for the Red Queen series (or trilogy, I’m not sure which) by Victoria Aveyard but I did like the end of Glass Sword.

Baldur is the beloved son of Odin and Frigg, twin brother of Hodor

August in This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab. I wish I could find me a boy like that. YA is really lacking nice, good male characters.

Lazlo Strange is also another main contender. A guy who loves stories, myths and faerie tales and who is also somehow caring and kind??

Lady Sif is known for her beautiful golden tresses, although she is also the goddess of the harvest and is married to Thor

Beasts Made of Night by Tochi Onyebuchi

I love this cover so much. I love how ingenuous and specific it is. It will look so beautiful on my bookshelf!

Frey is the Lord of weather, God of light, summer, master of agriculture, fertility, and brother of Freya

Anything written by Enid Blyton apart from the Famous Five and Secret Seven books. I grew up with these books and they will always hold a place in my heart.

Thank you Danielle and no, I haven’t read Godsgrave. I keep on avoiding it because while Nevernight was really good, it wasn’t as awesome as it was in the beginning. I’m kinda scared Godsgrave would be like that too!😄

Who gets tired of tags anyway 🙂 they’re great! I love reading them. ALthough I don’t do them anymore myself, somehow.

I used to like Ron and Hermione, but then I somehow got into reading it more and started feeling like Ron is kind of an.. asshole xD I actually have an entire post planned out about that. I’ll post it one day 😀

And I LOVE that Sailormoon GIF 😀

Lol. Tags are like a different kind of wrap-up. It’s so lovely to see a lot of books in one post!😁

Yeah. I think the movies made Ron seem really mean. In the books, Ron is a total sweetie to Hermione (after he finally accepted he liked her and stopped getting jealous 😂😂😂)

      Thank you so much Evelina!!😊

Lovely answers for this tag! 🙂 I LOVE Simon vs. just as well, it’s such a great book and it made me smile so much. I can’t wait to finally see it on the big screen ❤ and yay for Ron and Hermione, they are my ultimate OTP just as well ❤
